STAR Capital Partners (‘STAR’) announces the sale of its shareholding in GWE Gesellschaft für wirtschaftliche Energieversorgung mbH (‘GWE’), a leading independent energy services provider in Germany, to Macquarie European Infrastructure Fund 2. The sale is another successful realisation from the STAR 1 portfolio which focuses on investing in and developing capital intensive and asset based investment opportunities.
GWE has been owned by STAR, management and other minority investors since 2004. Under STAR's ownership, GWE has developed into the leading independent CHP business in Germany.
