Overview

In August 2010, STAR, together with management, completed the acquisition of pepcom GmbH (“Pepcom”) from GMT Communication Partners and Veronis Suhler Stevenson.

At the time of acquisition, Pepcom was Germany’s 6th largest cable operator, supplying analogue and digital T.V. channels, pay T.V., high speed broadband and VOIP (Voice Over Internet Protocol) telephony to housing associations and individual homes. Following the acquisition of HL komm (a Leipzig-based provider of telecommunication services for business customers) in 2012, Pepcom also supplied high speed broadband and telephony services to corporate customers. The company operates across Germany with particularly high subscriber densities in the Munich and Leipzig areas

Under STAR’s ownership, Pepcom achieved revenue and EBITDA growth of 15% p.a. and 10% p.a., respectively.

In November 2015, Pepcom was sold to Tele Columbus AG (Germany’s third largest cable operator).
