Overview

On 31 July 2014, STAR closed the STAR Finance Partnership LP, a specialist alternative investment fund focused on asset-backed financing for SMEs, via the STAR Asset Finance umbrella.

The fund’s strategy is to consolidate a number of independent asset finance brokers across the UK and provide them with the capital to grow the leasing volumes on their own balance sheet. The target is to create a significant alternative source of finance for SMEs, the engine room of the UK economy. The strategy represents a natural extension to STAR’s long-standing track record of investing in and arranging financing for asset-based businesses.

Since inception, STAR Asset Finance has acquired four successful and well established specialist asset finance companies: Kennet Equipment Leasing Limited, Ignition Credit PLC, First Capital Finance and Credo Holdings Limited. The group has arranged a large and committed credit facility to support the growth of the business.
